The boyfriend has been in town for a few days, so I haven't been playing as much. Got in a little time today, and recently saved at the Esper Cave. I'm finding out that the game is so much more enjoyable when you don't use Espers to teach your party members magic as you have to rely on each character's natural strengths; it makes them each seem more unique. Equips also become a bit more important as well.
Interestingly, I'm following WoW's example, and I'm using 2 DPS, 1 Healer, and 1 "Tank," who is charged with protecting allies (Knight's Code, Black Belt, Protect, Shell etc) and debuffing enemies to prevent damage (Confusion and the like). Edgar is doing an amazing tanking job so far. I hardly need to heal, and damage output is great and often uninterrupted. Fun times ahead as I make my way towards Thamasa and the Floating Continent.
